JEAN-CLAUDE GERARD (Flöte)
stammt aus Angers (Frankreich). Er studierte bei Gaston Brunelle in Paris und gewann 1962 am Conservatoire einen ersten Preis. 1972 ging er als Soloflötist in das Orchester der Hamburgischen Staatsoper. 1986 wurde er Professor an der Musikhochschule Hannover, seit 1989 wirkt er in gleicher Funktion an der Musikhochschule Stuttgart. Seit 1984 spielt er im Bach-Collegium Stuttgart und ist außerdem Flötist des "Ensemble Villa Musica". Kurse gibt er, im Rahmen der Veranstaltungen der Internationalen Bachakademie Stuttgart in aller Welt. Seine umfangreiche Diskographie umfaßt Solo- und Kammermusikliteratur vom Barock bis in die Moderne. Seit 1989 leitet er außerdem das Festival "Musique au large" von Quibéron.

JEAN-CLAUDE GERARD (Flute)
was born in Angers (France). He studied under Gaston Brunelle in Paris and won his first prize in 1962 at the Conservatoire. In 1972 he moved to the position of solo flutist at the Hamburg State Opera. In 1986 he became a professor at the Academy of Music in Hanover, since 1989 he has held the same position at the Academy of Music in Stuttgart. He has been playing in the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart since 1984 and is also the flutist in the "Ensemble Villa Musica". He teaches courses all over the world as part of the program of the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart. His many recordings include solo and chamber music from the baroque period to the modern. Since 1989, he has in addition been managing the "Musique au large" Festival of Quibéron.


JEAN-CLAUDE GERARD (flûte)
naquit à Angers (France). Il fit ses études auprès de Gaston Brunelle à Paris et obtint en 1962 un premier prix du Conservatoire. Il fut engagé comme flûtiste solo dans l’orchestre de l’Opéra national de Hambourg en 1972. Il obtint une chaire de professeur à la Musikhochschule de Hannovre en 1986, il a les mêmes fonctions à la Musikhochschule de Stuttgart depuis 1989. Il fait partie du Bach-Collegium Stuttgart depuis 1984 et il est de plus flûtiste de l’« Ensemble Villa Musica ». Il donne des cours dans le monde entier dans le cadre des manifestations de l’Académie Internationale Bach de Stuttgart. Son importante discographie embrasse la littérature de musique solo et de musique de chambre de l’époque baroque à l’époque moderne. Depuis 1989, il dirige en outre le festival « Musique au large » de Quiberon.
